What is a Mud Kitchen?
A Mud Kitchen is a childrens toy that is similar to a cooker you would find in a conventional kitchen. It allows a child to explore their creativity and imagination through role play. A child can pretend to be a cook or a scientist or an explorer. Mud kitchens facilitate creative learning and playing opportunities for children. What is my kitchen made from?
Our mud kitchens are made from responsibly sourced outside timber. It is sourced from Blamphayne Sawmills, Honiton in Devon.
Where are you based?
All our mud kitchens are made in Devon in Woodbury which is in between the Cathedral city of Exeter and the sea side town of Exmouth, which is amazing for wind surfing, paddle boarding or just playing on the beach
How easy are the self assembly Kitchens to build?
I promise you they are so easy to build. I went through several designs to make sure I got it right. All you need is a screw driver and some space. You will receive lots of pictures and instructions and if needed send me a message and I will help you through the process!!!
What are the worktops made from ?
Yes, our kitchens are built for the great outdoors and made to last. Our kitchens are made from quality exterior graded timber that has been specially treated to live outside. Our advice is to give your mud kitchen a fresh coat of paint every couple of years and during the winter months (unless you are using it inside) to put something like a barbecue cover over it.

How long does it take to recieve my mud kitchen?
Once we have received your order, your mud kitchen (currently) should be with you within 6/8 weeks. If you need it sooner then please get in touch and we will see what we can do.
Can we choose the colour of our mud kitchen?
Yes, we use the Cuprionol Garden Shades range.
What are the art easels?
The art easel are made from clear acrylic panels. They are perfect for using water based paints and are easily cleaned with soapy water. The budding artist can also use dry whiteboard pens, which can be cleaned with a dry cloth. With dry white board markers please check on a small area first that it comes off.
All things worms !
The wormery is made from 2 clear acrylic panels. The back panel can be unscrewed when the time comes to clean it out and let the worms escape back to the wild ! You can even read some fun wormy facts!

Can we change the height of our mud kitchen?
We thought long and hard about what the standard height, width and length of our play kitchens should be. Some companies offer a bewildering range of wooden kitchens in terms of models available and their different measurements from very small to quite tall. Quality mud kitchens are not cheap to buy and children grow at a remarkable rate of knots, so we decided to try and make our standard range a size that means your child will be able to play with it for many years to come and the kitchen would therefore have a longer and more productive life. We can custom make a mud kitchen to be any size or height you want. Just get in touch and we would love to help.
Can I have my kitchen personalised ?
You can have your name added to the mud kitchen for no extra cost.
Does my mud kitchen come with a guarantee ?
Painted and water sealed kitchens come with a 1 year guarantee.
Delivery
The cost of delivery is included in the price. The couriers we use deliver Monday-Friday. If you want a weekend delivery there will be an extra cost so please do get in touch. If you are lucky enough to live within 10 miles of Woodbury we will deliver your mud kitchen.
Our the kitchens refundable or returnable?
No, because all our kitchens are made individually to order. Of course if your mud kitchen is delivered damaged then please take some photos and get in touch immediately and we will resolve the situation as soon as possible.
Payment Plans
We would love you to choose one of our mud kitchens for your children.To help,we offer 0% payment plans. Simply pay us a £50 deposit and then whatever you can afford over the coming months. When we receive your final payment we will arrange delivery of your mud kitchen. To set this option up, please get in touch either by phone or email.
Payment Information
Please note that when you check out and pay for your kitchen or wellie stand, your payment will show up as being made to Harry Was 8 Ltd. That’s because when Harry was 8 our lives changed and we decided we would name our small business harry was 8. However because we also make handcrafted beds and other products that don’t neatly fit with mud kitchens we were advised in order to get some google love to change our mud kitchen site to a name that actually has mud kitchen in the domain hence mud kitchen play.
